Hugo lives in Jojutla muncipality, which is located in the state of Morelos, South Mexico.
Morelos is considered to be one of Mexico’s most important agricultural regions.
The capital Cuervarnaca is known for its beautiful colonial architecture and the city of Tepoztlan is refered as the “magic town” pueblo magico Tepoztlan for its arts and crafts shops.
Hugo has been on the air for over 20 years as a radio amateur and he has helped people during natural disasters such as the 2017 earthquake that caused a lot of damage and loss of life in his area of Mexico.
He has also provided radio assistance during serious road accidents.
Hugo has worked and confirmed many DXCC from around the world. His present working conditions consist of a Kenwood TS-450s and a 5 element Yagi beam antenna.
When Hugo is not in his shack, he likes to be involved in the community life of his area or watching sporting events.
